Team
The VILOs
project would not
have been possible without the continued support of many people - Bill
Brown, Patricia Ley, Tova Green, Candy Schladenhauffen. Randy Kimball
and Jay Carroll provided valuable insight during several phases of the
project, and Ted Tiefel, although he was with us for a short time on a
contract, provided great assistance. Without their continuous efforts,
this project would not have come together.
We sincerely appreciate the support and encouragement of Chancellor Mark Keen, Dean Russ Baker, and Phyllis Wiegmann. Part of the project was funded through Lilly funds, and we would like to thank Jeana Bodart for her assistance in this area.
We would like to thank John Malay, Scott Kiser, and
the rest of
the C&TS department for their teamwork with Instructional
Technology, Media Services, Central Office IT, Apple Consultants (David
Egger, Jason Bruder, David Lurz, and Jennifer Jones) and The Mac
Experience (Tom Egan and Chris Kerstiens) for the
implementation
of the VODPOD server. It took over a year of combined effort for this
project to move from submission of purchase requisitions last December
to it's test launch on December 7, 2007.
A big round of
applause also goes out to the Faculty members involved in the project
who provided the inspiration for it in response to their desire to
better serve their student; Patricia Ley, Denise Jordan, Jeff Simmons,
Andrew Varga, Charlene Mantock, Mary Carbaugh, Deeann Knox, Dave Martin
and their supervisors and coworkers who have supported the project in
many ways.
Most of all, we would like to thank our students for their active participation, enthusiasm, and on-going feedback. We couldn't have done it without them!
"I see where
we could use technology like this to augment almost any class in the
School of Health Care. I can see the use with students who
are struggling and need to repeat a procedure or to visualize how a
procedure was done if they missed a class." Denise Jordan
